Ireland - Day 2 - Dublin

8 solid hours of sleep ! YaY ! And then another 2, oops. Got up at 11 assuming we'd missed breakfast but the gal knocked and let us know we could still eat - so nice.

Great selection of simple breakfast foods. Oats with dried fruit and nuts, yogurt, fresh raspberries and blueberries. Cheese (Swiss and stilton's). Fresh fruit (we shared a banana). Prunes lol. Fresh French pressed coffee.

For €4 (extra) we decided to take a taxi back to Dublin but none were available due to the bus strike. Off we go for the long walk to the Dart.

Bought a few souvenirs. Made our way to the Dublin Tourist Office. It's 2:30pm by now !   We wanted to do the hop-on/hop-off tour bus but it only ran until 6pm. Not enough time today so let's stay another night in Dublin - NOPE. There is a football game this weekend and there is a cultural festival (all arts and museums are free for the night) Busy busy weekend. A lady called around looking for accommodation but nothing ! Ok, let's get our night set in Cork - nope, it's Saturday - Nothing ! Panic is setting in. Got out the tablet and reserved a room in Arklow.

Now it is 4pm and the Guinness Storehouse is 30min walk away and last tickets are at 5pm ... Let's hoof it and don't get lost ! Got there at 4:45pm ! (One stop to buy a converter because the dicks at the Source sold me the wrong one) Did the self guided tour. Opted for the learn to pour Guinness and took it to the Gravity room to see the views but hightailed it out because it was so busy. Visited the gift shop and then started our long walk back to the Temple Bar district.

Found a pub to eat at (potato skins - not that great). Leaving the pub we wanted to still find 'thee' Temple Bar . . . Walk a bit, look back and start laughing . . . That's where we ate !!!

(Pic with Molly Malone - need to do some research)

Head for Trinity College, saw 'where' the Book of Kells is. It's closed but it is €11 - ok, I was there, good enough.
Back to Pearce Station, off at Sydney Parade and long walk back to the room.

Nighty night xox
